Uno Score Keeper: privacy policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
This policy covers the Uno Score Keeper app for iOS and Android and the website uno-score-keeper.web.app. The app is made by Misha Narinsky, an independent developer, and is not affiliated with Mattel or the UNO brand. Questions: mnarinsky@gmail.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts. Your players, games and statistics stay on your phone.
- The app sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports so we can see what works and fix what breaks.
- If you use a shared table, the names and scores at that table go through our server and are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is used to show you ads inside the app. The app has no ads.
What stays on your phone
Player names, avatars, games, scores, your settings and statistics are stored on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the app sends, and why
Usage statistics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record events such as a game started or finished, the number of players, the rules chosen, screens opened and settings changed, with the app version, device model, operating system and an approximate country derived from the network. Each installation gets a random identifier. On Android, Google Analytics may also read the advertising ID of the device; we do not use it for advertising, and you can reset or delete it in the Android settings. We use these statistics only to understand and improve the app.
Crash reports
Firebase Crashlytics sends a report when the app crashes: what failed, the app version, device model and operating system, and a random installation identifier. Reports are kept for 90 days.
Feedback and language requests
If you write to us from the app, the text you write is sent to our database (Google Cloud Firestore) together with the app version and some facts about the game on the screen. A request for a new language is stored the same way. Both are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Shared table
If you invite other players to a shared table, or join one, the app sends to our server (Google Cloud Firestore) the player names and avatar choices at that table, the round scores, a random table code and an anonymous identifier of each phone (Firebase Anonymous Authentication). This information is visible only to the phones at that table, is used only to show everyone the same scoreboard, and is deleted automatically 24 hours after the table was opened. Names, codes and tokens are never sent to analytics.
How you found the app
On Android, the app reads once, after installation, the referrer that Google Play passes to it: the campaign of an advertisement, if one led to the install, or the code of a shared table. On iOS, from version 2.0, the app asks Apple once whether an Apple Ads campaign led to the install, and records the campaign, keyword and country in the usage statistics. This uses Apple's AdServices framework and does not track you across other apps or websites. We use this only to tell which advertising works.
The website
The page with the two store buttons uses Google Analytics to count visits and taps on the buttons, together with the advertising campaign named in the address. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. When an advertisement in ChatGPT brought you to the page, it also loads the OpenAI Ads measurement pixel, which keeps the identifier of the advertisement click in a cookie of this website and reports a tap on a store button to OpenAI. The store buttons pass the campaign on to the store. Pages that open a shared table, under /t/, load no analytics and no advertising code.
Who receives the data
Google (Firebase and Google Analytics) processes the data above on our behalf. Apple answers the Apple Ads attribution question. OpenAI receives the website measurement described above. We do not sell data and do not share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Children
The app is a score keeper for a family card game and does not ask for anyone's age. It does not ask for contact details. Names typed into the app stay on the device unless a shared table is used, and then they are deleted after 24 hours.
Your choices
- To have feedback, a language request or shared table data deleted, see delete your data.
- On Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID in the system settings. On the website you can block cookies in your browser; the buttons work the same way.
